Victoria Lotteries

Victoria permits two public lotteries as well as trade promotion lotteries.

Tattersalls has been operating a lottery in Victoria since 1954. The lottery offers TattsLotto, Powerball, The Pools, Super 7’s Oz Lotto, Super 66 and Instant Lottery. Tattersalls also has a phone and internet lottery system.

Tattersalls Consultations Act 1997 permitted the company to sell its tickets online, but it wasn't until October 2001 that the company received approval from Victoria's Casino and Gaming Authority to offer lottery products for sale online.

In July 2008, Intralot received permission and began to offer its lottery products in addition to Tattersalls. Intralot offers Keno 10/20/70, Pick 5 Heads or Tails, Cross & Match, TV Bingo, Pick3 and Instant Lottery Games.

A trade promotion lottery is designed to promote a trade or business. It includes barrel draws, spinning wheels, scratch-and-win cards, and 1900 telephone calls. Rules for conducting a trade promotion lottery may be found in the Gambling Regulation Act 2003 and Gambling Regulation Regulations 2005.
